II Timothy 2:19-21

“How much emphasis we place on how much we know, and how much we believe.  Emphasizing our own beliefs and efforts as fruit that we belong to Christ.  But in reality it’s Him knowing me, not me knowing Him.”

This Friday’s Featured Study comes from our 2007 series in II Timothy.

In chapter 2 Paul is instructing Timothy about being in ministry likening it to a soldier in a war, an athlete in training, and a laboring farmer.  Paul emphasizes Christ is the unstoppable empowering force that minsters while man is merely the vessel.

Additionally, in verses 19-21, we see how the Word of God puts teachers and ministers on trial; exposing through their lifestyle and the lives of those listening whether they are ministering the one true gospel or a false one.
